About Rachel Anderson - Textile Artist
About Rachel Anderson Textiles
Rachel Anderson Textiles began in September 2019 when textile artist Rachel had completed her full-time BA Hons in Textiles, and was seeking a full time creative pursuit.

Based in East Yorkshire, Rachel Anderson specialises in freemotion machine embroidery, using the sewing machine as a tool to draw.
Often experimenting with textile design, her works include signature fabrics that are developed as a result of experimenting with paper marbling to acheive fluid patterns to contrast the rigid stitches that lie on the surface.
Craft is central to Rachels practice. Recently she has been studying bobbin lacemaking, an endangered heritage craft skill.
It’s her mission to spread knowledge of textiles skills, as well as raising the profile of textile and craft art which is often overlooked as ‘women’s work’ in the wider art world due to its origins in domesticity.
Rachel is also regularly a range of one off creative textile workshops, as well as for many local organisations including East Riding Libraries, Ferens Art Gallery, Knitting & Stitching Shows, and Our Big Picture in Grimsby.
